Local News Spotlight: Mental Health Care |
Published in the Providence Journal on March 3, "Finding a place to care for Aiyana," profiled the challenges families and children face in obtaining effective, affordable, and continuous mental health care. The article highlights the need for a coordinated system of care for youth with mental health issues.
Gregory Fritz, MD, joined host Elizabeth Burke Bryant to discuss children's access to mental health services in Rhode Island, the importance of early intervention for children and youth, and increasing awareness of mental health.

Update on ACA Implementation

Rhode Island continues to implement the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Deloitte was awarded a $105 million contract to build a new IT platform for Rhode Island's Health Benefits Exchange and human services programs to make real time eligibility determinations. Rhode Island was also recently awarded a $1.6 million federal innovation grant, which will be used to develop a health care innovation plan focused on improving health care quality and lowering costs. To learn more, please see the Providence Journal coverage here.
