We are wishing you the very best this Holiday Season!

It has been an unusual holiday season for us here at Woodsounds.  I have spent large quantities of time in the shop creating flutes over the last three months.  It has been an incredible time of creative growth.

The many hours in the shop have resulted in less videos and Newsletters from Woodsounds, but have also resulted in a some wonderful improvements for our flutes.

I am excited for you to experience our new flutes and believe that you will enjoy the feelings they help to create.

I am humbled and grateful for the continued support of our wonderful clients in 2015.

Merry Christmas!

First Man - Mammoth Hunter

This flute design came about through a cooperative effort between Ed Metz and myself. Ed had a vision of a flute that incorporated the feelings of the Rock Art found in the old caves of Europe. Like the cave where the 43,000 year old Cave Bear Flute was found.

Our flute creation incorporates Ancient Kauri Wood from New Zealand. This wood comes out of  bogs where it has been buried for the last 40,000 to 50,000 years. Carbon testing puts the age of this wood in this time frame.

Instead of the wood rotting, it has been preserved. My personal belief is that the high latex content of the wood has a preserving  affect. Regardless, it is a gorgeous wood with tiny gold flex of color throughout the wood.

Rock art in the caves picture Wooly Mammoth, Aurochs, and many other images. Several of these images are inlayed on this flute in Wooly Mammoth Ivory.

The totem is made from Wooly Mammoth Ivory of two different tusks. One tusk was quite aged, to the point of turning brown in color and getting soft in the center of the tusk. The other tusk came from a better preserved tusk and it nearly as white as modern ivory.

This is a design that I would love to do again. If you have an interest, please contact me.

See your Woodsounds Flutes at the

You can now create your login to the My Flutes page of the Woodsounds site! This will allow you to view the flutes you have purchased and registered with Woodsounds since 2009.

This is a great tool for tracking your flutes and keeping a list of the flute values. Please note that flutes prior to 2009 are not in the database and will not be accessible.

Additionally, please note that pictures and/or sound files uploaded to the Woodsounds Website will visible to you on your login page. If there are no photos uploaded, just the flute details will be visible.

This is just the first step with My Flutes! We have great hopes for this page and are excited to have this working for you now.
