William Hoshal CD Release !

"The Language of Clouds"

The long awaited follow-up to "Rumor of the Sun" has arrived! After several years away from recording and performing, William Hoshal has finally released his highly anticipated second album of new music for Native American flute, "The Language of Clouds," in a digital release. Available for direct download from CDBaby, iTunes, and Amazon on May 5th. Pre-orders for CD are also being taken, and the first 100 pre-orders or full purchase downloads, will receive special free-gifts, including an additional unreleased track from the recording sessions and behind-the-scenes access to the making of the first video for the album. For CD purchases, please send email to info@williamhoshal.com

For many years I have been a fan of William Hoshal's flute playing. I have had asked him to perform at festivals and other concerts. Never have I been disappointed. Several years ago though, William disappeared from the flute scene. I could not get a hold of him on the phone nor by email. Finally a year and a half later he called me and told me that he had taken some time off to work on a CD and that he did not know how much time it was going to take to finish it but that he had to take the time to make it right. He said he had to put the music first and the performing had gotten in the way of the music for a while. So he disciplined himself and focused all his attention on just making his art.

Well, to be honest, I thought he was crazy and that I worried I had lost a good friend. However, I patiently waited and occasionally made contact asking how he was doing. When he came to me with this CD, I was so blown away I had to be a part of it. William was never crazy he was just correct in his need to focus and make his music right. I am so grateful that he did! The quality of the music William created is outstanding.

The city of Eau Claire, and particularly its university, encourages all forms of creativity and self-expression, an approach that is displayed both readily and proudly. The beauty of nature is resplendent in Eau Claire, especially on the university campus where there are bike paths, scenic walking trails, and a river that runs directly by the Haas Fine Arts Center where the World Flute Society convention will be held.
