This coming weekend is the The 33rd Annual Colorado Indian Market and Southwest Showcase in Denver, Colorado.

We are very excited to be a part of this event for the first time.

The show hours are:
Friday, January 17 - 1 PM to 7 PM
Saturday, January 18 - 10 AM to 7 PM
Sunday, January 19 - 10 AM to 5 PM

We have put together some of the most lovely flutes for this show. Unfortunately, I have not had time to take photos of some of the most beautiful flutes. So to see them first, you will need to be at the show.

Several years ago Robert Mirabal had a part in a movie mini series. He needed a flute prop for his part. He asked me to make him a flute that looked like one of the old style Taos Pueblo flutes. The pictures that he sent me had flutes that looked like rough hewn tubes with wide open mouth pieces. They had bands wrapped around them periodically.

I made him a flute that looked like this flute. This became known as the Woodsounds Old Style flute.

I love this flute as it is the same instrument as our normal flute. Except that it looks like a rough old flute. Internally, everything is the same. The sound is fantastic. Only the look is old.

One thing that I really love is that the flute tube is actually one piece of solid wood. There are no glue joints. No other pieces of wood or other materials are attached to the wood to make the flute work. It is just the wood. There is some finish put on the inside parts to protect the wood. But other than this, it is just wood.
