Nah, NOT Circus Peanuts!!!

UHoneycomb Peanutsnlike phony, orange Circus Peanut mystery candy, Honeycomb Peanuts are more like the legume you'd expect, based on their size, shape and color. They look like peanuts, are about the same size as a small peanut shell, and actually taste peanutty. They're a light orange colored hard candy filled with a crunchy peanut butter center (kind of like the middle of a Butterfinger). They're quite delicious, and we're sure you'll agree.

Nuts (and Nut-free) About Chocolate
News From Our Chocolate Department

Skip's Nut-free Chocolate
Customers have asked us for nut-free chocolate for a long time. This Christmas we beefed up our offerings (hmm, beef and chocolate...). Skips is a 20 year-old, family run candy company right here in PA, and they opened their certified nut-free facility in 2011, because of their grandson's severe allergy to peanuts and tree nuts. Their newest employee is an allergen detection dog that they use periodically to do facility sweeps for added security - they take this VERY seriously! And just because it's nut-free does NOT mean it's not delicious - we can attest to that. Of course we have Christmas trees, Santas and toy soldiers. But now we've added "Puddle Jumpers" -their version of a candy that rhymes with "N&Ns" - and actual chocolate bars, decorated with sprinkles, along with a handful of other treats.
AND ALL SKIPS CHOCOLATE IS 30% OFF THROUGH CHRISTMAS!!!

Two new chocolate bar lines:
Moonstruck Chocolate

Alcove Chocolate

Alcove Chocolate's rich, refined three-ounce bars are created with award winning European chocolate fused with their propriety blend of natural flavors and spices. They craft them in limited quantities to ensure the highest quality, and they don't contain preservatives or harmful additives. Their dark chocolates are carefully blended with 64% cacao. And with bars including Red Velvet, Banana Cream Crunch, Black Forest, Mimosa Orange Champagne and Fleur de Pretzel, can you really go wrong?

Moonstruck Chocolate originated in Portland, OR in 1993. They handcraft exceptional chocolates that look just as good as they taste. They pair their own decadent chocolate with fresh flavors found in the Pacific Northwest and beyond, and then hand-decorate each piece with intricate care.
Chiller Theater
A report on all things sodarific: what's new in the fridge, tastings and interesting tidbits from the world of bottled effervescence.

Village Candy just received a huge shipment of new bubblies along with old favorites.  You'll not find these around Pittsburgh nor, most likely, anywhere else in Pennsylvania!

Tower Root Beer
Tower Root Beer was established as a hugely popular New England favorite in the early 1900s, and is a rich, old-time root beer. After a 30 year production absence, the original hand-written family recipe was recently rediscovered by the inventor's grandson, and now it's back for all to enjoy. Come in and give it a try!

Cicero Candied Bacon Soda First we brought you Bacon Soda. After overwhelming demand (and some scorn), we brought you Chocolate-Dipped Maple  Bac on Soda. Now we're excited to introduce (finger tap roll please) Cicero Beverage Company's Candied Bacon Cream Soda! Please don't hold it against us! But seriously, this is a deliciously full-bodied cream with a hint of that savory smoke flavor. And Chicago's Cicero Beverage uses only real sugar (no HFCS), and was recently awarded the 2014 Gold BevStar Award for Carbonated Beverages by Beverage World Magazine.

Oh, and not to forget, it's been way too long since our last soda tasting. Stay tuned for upcoming events in the new year!
Christmas Vacation
Village Candy will be closed from Christmas Day through New Year's Day. We will return to normal business hours Friday, January 2, at 10 am. We wish our customers a safe and joyous holiday!

We are here Tuesday thru Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, but on Wednesday we stay late until 8! We are closed Sunday and Monday.

Sincerely,
Signature
