21 Days until we Run for the Animals!
The Trails go to the dogs on Saturday, September 27th at 10:00am. MCHA invites the community to be a hero and Run for the Animals at this year's 5K Race and one-mile family dog walk. The Run for the Animals is a timed 5K race or walk along the B-Line trail and one-mile dog walk on the Rail trail, with all of the proceeds benefiting the programs and services of the Monroe County Humane Association. Each year, MCHA works to provide over 500 animals in Monroe County with spay/neuter or emergency medical assistance. Staff and volunteers work in the heart of the community to maintain humane education programs, collaborate with community groups to increase reading and literacy among youth, and work towards a more humane Monroe County for animals in our community. Fundraising events are core to our mission's future, as MCHA receives no government funding. Register for the Run for the Animals event here or on the day of, beginning at 8:00am. Adult registrations are $30, children 12 and under are $15. Children under 6 may attend for free, but will not receive a t-shirt. Race day check-in and registration are on the South side of Country Club Drive at the Rail Trail parking lot. (301 W. Country Club Drive)

Is your pet the "Top Dog!"
MCHA challenges the community to help raise $5,000 towards MCHA programs and services. You can help by entering your pet into the "Top Dog!" contest. If you and your pet collect the most donations towards your Run for the Animals, your pet will be proclaimed "Top Dog!" of the 2014 Run for the Animals and be the model for the 2015 marketing materials including posters, flyers, postcards, websites, and other promotional materials. You and your pet will also win a complimentary photo shoot to capture the images for the 2015 promotional materials. You can collect cash donations and turn them in on the day of the run on Saturday September 27th until 9:00am or enter your pet online and collect donations towards making your pet "Top Dog!"
