Paws and Claws Camp Registration
is now open!!


Give your young animal lover an experience to remember!

Since 2006, Paws and Claws camp has provided kids 7-12 with a safe, fun learning experience featuring daily animal interactions. Campers will interact many of our MCHA Animal Ambassadors, tour the Bloomington Animal Shelter, meet special guests, make crafts, play animal themed games and more!

Registration is limited to 12 campers per session, and limited to one session per child until April 15, when any openings will be made available for repeat campers.

Register now for Spring Break Classes

Spring break means kids classes at the MCHA!

This year we will take be offering 2 different classes for elementary school students.

All Spring break classes meet from 3:00-5:00PM at the Bloomington Animal Shelter and the cost is just $25 per student

Each session features visits with MCHA Animal Ambassadors, fun activities and interaction with appropriate shelter animals! 

Pets and Me

This class focuses on pets, pet care and being safe around animals. Age appropriate discussion of animal welfare and sheltering issues will be included, as will a tour of the Bloomington Animal Shelter.

Fur, Feathers and Scales
In this class, kids will explore the similarities &  differences between wild animals and pets and learn about different animal groups. Special appearances by some of the more unusual Animal Ambassadors such as Boris the Great Horned Owl and Tangerine the corn snake will be highlighted. Students may even get to dissect owl pellets!
