"Memories That Move Us"
TCR's 12th Annual Memories Walk
|
A little rain couldn't put a damper on the spirits of everyone who came to join us on Sunday, October 25, for our 12th Annual Memories Walk!
What a fantastic day we had, walking together up Mass. Ave. to celebrate TCR and to remember our loved ones. We were so happy and grateful to share this day with so many of you. Thank you for gathering with us in support of our mission to create safe, caring communities, so that no child, teen, or family has to grieve alone.
We simply could not do this vital work without the support of our community, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this year's event such a resounding success.
Thank you!

A Very Special Thank You to the
|
This year, the Club held its Skate-a-Thon in memory of Arlington teen Catherine Malatesta. They were able to exceed their fundraising goal, raising over $15,000 for TCR. What an impressive effort!
We had a blast at the event, and we're deeply honored by and grateful for AHC's ongoing commitment to TCR.
Thank you, AHC, for all you continue to do to support TCR!

Welcome to our 2015-16 Interns!
|
As another school year begins, TCR once again welcomes a talented new group of undergraduate and graduate Program Interns.
We are so pleased and proud to welcome Devan Miller, Samantha Adams, Aidan Young, Ashly Cullity, Stacy Normand, and Jessica Visconti to the TCR community!
TCR's interns help our staff provide a range of programs for grieving children and families, all while educating the next generation of professionals entering the mental health field.
TCR offers a 10-month academic internship in the field of bereavement for undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of social work, psychology, expressive arts, and/or child life. The interns work with children, teens, and families at the house and in the community. Their learning is both trauma informed and based on the model of peer support.
Program Interns assist in multiple peer support groups, our parent education series, and family night. They also provide information and referrals to callers in need of grief support.
TCR interns also participate in a weekly seminar, providing an opportunity for didactic as well as experiential learning. Topics for the seminar include: child development and grief, bereavement theory, trauma and grief, mindfulness, cultural diversity, religion and spirituality, and expressive arts.

LifeLine Ambulance Hosts Harbor Cruise for TCR
|
|
Brian J. Connor, President and CEO of LifeLine Ambulance, presenting the proceeds from LifeLife Ambulance's recent event to TCR Executive Director Donna Smith Sharff.
|
LifeLine hosts an annual appreciation Boston Harbor Cruise for the LifeLife family (employees, clients, etc.) each Labor Day weekend. LifeLine pays for the event and asks guests to make a contribution to a local charity if they wish. The Children's Room was the recipient this year, and $5,000 was raised for TCR. Brian Connor and his wife, Michelle O'Connor, generously matched the proceeds in memory of Arlington teen Catherine Malatesta.
Thank you so much for your generous support!
