"Just keep running... just keep running."

Steph at last year's
homemade finish line
This mantra keeps Stephanie Lubin-Levy going during the hard training runs as she prepares to run the Boston Marathon once again in support of TCR.

She will be running in memory of her father, who died when she was four years old.

Steph was asked to write a guest post on John Hancock's "Extra Mile" blog, sharing her story of why she has chosen to run for The Children's Room.

Her beautiful post includes a heartwarming memory of her marathon run last year, after she was unable to cross the finish line.

Take a minute to read and share Steph's story and support her run!
Teen Fundraiser Wins Volunteer Award
Fourteen-year-old Robert Gray has become something of a celebrity at TCR's Annual Memories Walk.

The date of the Walk always falls near Robert's birthday, and for the past four years he has asked his friends and family to support The Children's Room instead of giving him presents.

Through his birthday Memories Walk fundraising, Robert has raised a total of $16,000 for TCR!

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to The Children's Room, Robert recently received the John F. Kennedy Make A Difference AwardOne hundred middle school students from across Massachusetts were honored at an awards ceremony this month at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston.

Robert's connection with The Children's Room began at age five when he started participating in a peer support group at TCR along with his mom, Margaret Ann. His father died in a plane crash when he was three years old.

Robert says,
"I will always think of The Children's Room as a safe place for me to explore what happened when I was so young. Thanks to The Children's Room and my mom, I have some happy memories with my dad, and I know his spirit lives in me."

We are so proud of Robert and grateful for all he has done for The Children's Room!

Volunteer Opportunity: Marathon Training Run on 3/29
Are you interested in helping our Miles & Memories Marathon Team prep for the big race?

The team is participating in a 21-mile training run on Saturday, March 29th, and we're looking for volunteers to help provide our runners with 5 - 7 water stops along the way.

Starting at 8:30am, runners will begin at the starting line in Hopkinton and run the first 21 miles of the marathon course, to the top of Heartbreak Hill in Newton.

Many other non-profits will be participating in Saturday's training run and hosting their own water stops. This is a great opportunity to come out and show your support for the TCR Marathon Team!

If you're interested in volunteering or have any questions,
contact Becca at [email protected] or 781-641-4741 ext. 334.

Our Heartfelt Thanks
Hearts

We are grateful to so many of you whose support enables all that we do here at The Children's Room. A word of thanks for some special donations of time, talent, and much-needed resources:

  • Local businesses who generously donated to recent TCR events:

Arlington Food Recovery Project, Blooms of Hope, Blue Ribbon BBQ, Boston Beer Company, East Coast Grill, Giles Fine Wine, Jean-marie Corrois (musician), Lyndell's Bakery, Needham Center Fine Wines, Quebrada Baking Company

  • All our gifted, reliable, caring volunteers (close to 100!), without whom we could not reach nearly as many children and families... thank you, one and all.

The Children's Room has partnered with Donate for Charity to make it fast and easy to donate your old vehicle to TCR. Your vehicle will be picked up - free of charge! - from anywhere and TCR will receive a donation in the amount of the vehicle's value.
