The Orange County Breakers will be "Defending the Bren" when the season kicks off on July 7 at the Bren Events Center on the campus of UC Irvine with a lineup full of local stars, youth and experience.  

The team did not have to go much further than their own backyard for their first two picks in yesterday's Mylan WTT Roster Draft.

  

During the Roster Exempt portion of the draft, the Breakers were able to secure the rights to Newport Beach resident Coco Vandeweghe, who in her fifth Mylan WTT season, will finally be playing for her hometown team. 

With their first official pick in the Roster Draft, Orange County selected Orange native Steve Johnson. This former USC standout is currently making his way on the ATP Tour with a quarterfinal showing at San Jose last month and a wild card entry into the main draw at Indian Wells.

The Breakers rounded out the 2013 team with Italian Maria Elena Camerin who has three WTA Tour doubles titles to her name and Treat Huey, who played for the Washington Kastles in 2012. Huey is currently still playing in the Men's Doubles draw in Indian Wells after a quarterfinal win over James Blake and Mardy Fish.
