FROM NAO
Reflections from Jim
Jim White
I hope that in these final days of summer you are beating the heat as we are preparing to head into the beautiful Oregon Fall season. The changing of the season makes me think about transitions in general and how nonprofits specifically fare during transitions in organizational structure and mission.

The Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum (EASM) recently went through a reorganization that could have led to a museum closure, but instead the organization emerged as stronger and more connected to the community. Ann Witsil, the Interim CEO, and Clarinda White, the Interim Development Director at EASM, are both part of the Nonprofit Association of Oregon's (NAO) longstanding Executive Transition Services (ETS) team and led the efforts at the Museum to help rebuild and reshape its legacy. The Fiduciary & Ethical Role of the CFO in Employee Health Benefit Purchasing
The healthcare landscape is changing dramatically
these days, and the ACA especially has had far-reaching
financial implications for nonprofits. With more organizations moving towards a fully or partially self-funded model, it is imperative that CFOs become intimately involved with employee healthcare decisions to ensure the long-term viability for both the business and its employees.
