FROM NAO
Reflections from Jim
Jim White
It is hard to believe the summer is almost over. At NAO, we are busy putting together exciting programming for you in the upcoming year.

Our training networks begin their season in the Fall and we are excited to announce a the roll-out of our Member Pass. Our Member Pass is a great way for members to purchase NAO training all at once. You pre-pay for 8 sessions in your favorite network and get an additional two free registrations to attend other networks in your area! If you are accessing our training from Bend or from Medford, you can use those two sessions if you visit other regions, or you can bring a colleague for free to two sessions of your choice. We just ask that you help us keep costs low on catering by RSVPing for each session. And, the commercial is almost over, but we also are selling early bird pricing through August which means an additional 20% off! It is our sincere hope that the Member Pass will be a more flexible way for you to get the professional development opportunities you need. Read more

Nonprofits of many types and particularly human service support organizations are increasingly in the vanguard of battling the societal maladies of our time: violence, poverty and racism. Become a Legacy Fellow
On October 3, SAGE will launch its nine-month leadership program, the Legacy Fellowship, to train and support individuals and teams to carry out community benefit projects of their own design. These projects can be independent (in a neighborhood or workplace, for example) or for an existing nonprofit like yours. The idea behind the program is that many of us are excited to make a personal contribution of leadership and service to our communities, and there is nothing more motivating than doing a project of our own design.

If your nonprofit has a long-term project idea, SAGE invites you to submit your idea for our Legacy Fellows to consider. Further, if you know of individuals or teams who might like to do your project as fellows, please recommend those candidates too. There is a $1,500 tuition for the program, which covers the expert coaching, retreat, nine evening workshops, and closing celebration. If the tuition is a barrier, participants are able to share the tuition as a team, and we are able to offer a limited number of tuition waivers. Learn more
