Jim WhiteYou may have heard me say it before, but it bears repeating that nonprofits are a cornerstone of our civil society and democracy. Oregon's nonprofits enrich our communities, offer people ways to participate, support at-risk populations, deliver services and build hope. NAO is proud to support you all by strengthening the collective voice, leadership, and capacity of nonprofits across the state.

Taken as a sector, nonprofits in Oregon are impacting the employment landscape. According to the Oregon Employment Department, Oregon nonprofits employ over 172,000 people comprising 12% of all private sector jobs in Oregon. As a share of Oregon's total (public and private sectors) employment, nonprofit jobs make up more than 10% - the same amount as manufacturing. Read more

AMPLIFY YOUR VOICE
2016 Project Impact PDX
Dr. Steve Patty and the Dialogues in Action team are putting together another cohort of Project Impact PDX for 2016! This nine-month evaluation boot helps organizations prove and improve their impact. Participating organizations will develop their capacity to conduct both qualitative and quantitative evaluations through monthly instructional meetings and monthly one-on-one coaching sessions. The participation fee for each organization is $4,200 or $3,900 for NAO members. Plan on participating now! Applications open July 15 for our 5th cohort to start in January 2016. Teams from over 35 Portland area nonprofits have been a part of this project. Learn more
2016 Levitt AMP Portland Grant Awards
Levitt Pavilions announces an exciting grant opportunity serving small to mid-sized towns and cities across the country. 10 grantees will be awarded up to $25K each in matching funds to produce their own Levitt AMP Portland Music Series-an outdoor, free concert series featuring a diverse line up of high caliber entertainment for all ages to enjoy. Online public voting determines the Top 20 finalists. Grant applications open on July 15 and are due by October 15, 2015. For more information Learn more
2015 Days of Caring
Volunteer Connect and United Way of Deschutes County are proud to announce their new partnership as they team up to organize and present the 2015 Days of Caring. This event matches local nonprofits with businesses for 2-days of community service. This year's event will be Friday, September 18th, and Saturday, September 19th. Learn more

Leading Change Summit
Washington DC, September 13-16, 2015 
NTEN's Leading Change Summit (15LCS) will bring together nonprofit innovators that lead change in their organizations, and close with a super-charged Idea Accelerator finale. Four 15LCS hubs are designed specifically to help attendees lead the change in their organization: program design and effectiveness, developing technical solutions, activating constituents for impact, and new models for fundraising. Learn more
