Here's hoping everyone had an amazing summer. We certainly have – earthquakes and hurricanes notwithstanding!
I am thrilled to still be touring with my ALL STAR BAND
in support of our
Motéma Music debut release, Who Knows Where The Time Goes, and
feeling the love from radio, critics but most importantly
YOU, our audience wherever we go.
Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to you all for coming out to support live music
and making us feel so welcome in your cities and home towns all around the country.
So many of you have been kind enough to come up to me after the show and share
your stories with me, like; "your music helped keep my wife's spirits up during
chemo," and "helped to soothe my mother during hospice." In Cleveland we made
new friends at the historic jazz club, Nighttown, filled the house on our second
trip to Sculler's in Boston, and in Cincinatti I had the privilege of doing a great TV
interview spot for our date at the Blue Wisp on WCPO – ABC 9. And after our amazing
gig at Catalina's in LA, the whole band headed up past Mailbu to The Painted Turtle,
www.thepaintedturtle.org , where the band and I performed at the closing camp
ceremonies for these seriously ill kids, who turned our show into a rollicking dance party
-- joyfully rockin' out to the music in their wheelchairs.
Science is proving that music can have profound effects on the body, the brain
and the process of healing. That is why Motéma Music founder, Jana Herzen,
and I have decided to partner with The Hole In The Wall Gang organization –
www.holeinthewallgang.org - for our upcoming Fall Tour. This benefit tour will kick
off at NYC's The Metropolitan Room on Sept. 21 @ 9:30PM, where 100% of all ticket sales will be donated to Hole in The Wall Camp, followed by stops at The Dakota in
Minneapolis on Oct. 10th, Chicago's Mayne Stage Theater on Oct. 13th, New Orleans
Snug Harbor on Oct. 20th, the greater Atlanta area's Falany Performing Arts Center on
Oct. 25th, Princess Theater in Winnsboro, LA on Oct. 28th and Acadiana Center for
the Arts in Lafayette, LA. on Oct. 29th.
Stay tuned for more news on our Fall Tour Page at www.rondicharleston.com and more
info on the exciting ways each venue will be partnering with us to raise funds and
awareness for this amazing organization begun by our dear friend, Paul Newman.
I can't wait to re-connect with my old friends in all these cities and meet tons of new
ones. Come out and join in the festivities, the music and help us continue
to make some very special kids really happy!
See you soon!
