June 8, 463 Cougars from The Colony High School (TCHS) will graduate and take their place as part of the school's long line of pride, tradition, character, excellence and achievement. In this special edition of Cougar Pride, we take time to celebrate the class of 2015 and all of their great accomplishments.

Valedictorian - Mackenzie Young 

Intended College: Southern Methodist University 

Intended Major: Biology  

Mackenzie Young, daughter of Corby Young and Allison Young-Ward, is the 2014-2015 TCHS Valedictorian. During her time at TCHS, she was involved in a myriad of activities, including National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, German National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and International Thespian Society, and also served as Theatre President. The teachers who impacted her the most were TCHS Theatre teachers Dwayne and Ronda Craig and 7th grade LEAP teacher at Lakeview Middle School, Blake Bogus. Her favorite classes throughout high school were her Advanced Placement (AP) and Theatre classes. Upon graduation, she plans to attend Southern Methodist University and major in Biology, ultimately hoping to attend medical school. Her life goal is to become a pediatric surgeon, working at either Texas Children's Hospital or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.   

Salutatorian - Stephen Romo

GPA: 114.37   

Intended College: Texas A&M University 

Intended Major: Electrical Engineering  

Stephen ("Stevie") Romo, son of Stephen and Karen Romo, is the 2014-2015 TCHS Salutatorian. During his time at TCHS, he was the captain of the varsity soccer team; 1st chair cello in the Chamber Orchestra; the founder of the Disc Golf/Ultimate Club; and was a leader in the school's Bible Study Club. He said the teacher who impacted him most was his 7th and 8th grade teacher at Lakeview Middle School, Blake Bogus, who taught him to persevere in both academics and in life. His favorite classes throughout high school were AP English III, AP U.S. History; and AP Physics C. Upon graduation, he plans to attend Texas A&M University and major in Electrical Engineering, with the dream of one day working as an engineer in the U.S. military or with the U.S. government.
