June 9, 797 Marcus High School (MHS) Marauders will graduate and take their place as part of the school's long line of pride, tradition, character, excellence and achievement. In this special edition of Marauder Pride, we take time to celebrate the class of 2014 and all of their great accomplishments.

Meet MHS' Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Valedictorian - Anisha Guda

Weighted GPA: 117.0170

Intended College: Texas Tech University and Texas Tech Medical School (Undergraduate Medical School Initiative) 

Intended Major: Biochemistry    

  

Anisha Guda, daughter of Hari and Mythili Guda, is the 2013-2014 MHS Valedictorian. Guda is the president of MHS' MEDS Club; founder of the Culture Club; Officer of English Honor Society; Historian of Science Honor Society; a member of Spanish Honor Society; National Honor Society; Mu Alpha Theta; Student Council; and is involved in UIL Academics. She plans to attend Texas Tech University and Texas Tech Medical School (Undergraduate Medical School Initiative. While at Tech, she plans to study biochemistry. Guda would like to thank her parents, family members, teachers throughout her years in Lewisville ISD, as well as her friends who have supported her along the way. They have all provided her with the strength and the courage to ultimately achieve her goals.

  

 

Salutatorian - Amanda Wang

Weighted GPA: 116.7590

Intended College: Dartmouth College 

Intended Major: Biology and Chemistry 

  

Amanda Wang, daughter of of Gongtao Wang and Vivian Wei, is the 2013-2014 MHS Salutatorian. She played Oboe in the MHS' band and is involved in several honor socities. Wang will attend Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. While at Dartmouth, she plans to study Biology and Chemistry to pursue a medical career, one day hoping to join Doctors Without Borders. She would like to thank her parents for raising her to be who she is and for encouraging her holistic development as an individual.
