Dear Future Jaguars
Seniors Share Advice with Future FMHS Students

Not long ago, we were students at schools you now attend.
Here's a few thoughts of what exactly it means to be a Jaguar. Good luck!
- FMHS Senior Class 2014

"Don't blow off your freshman year. Be excited and get involved. Join clubs you're interested in and try hard in your classes. Your freshman year sets you up for your entire high school career, so it's important you have an awesome start!" -Erin Brooks

"High school is not middle school. You have a lot more freedom, but that also means you need a lot more responsibility! Make sure you stay organized and keep up with your homework each night. If you're confused, don't wait until the last minute to ask questions. All that does is create unnecessary stress."

-Victoria Brooks

"Don't freak out and think you have to take a bunch of Advanced Placement (AP) classes just because your friends are taking them. Take the classes that you are passionate about at your own pace. Study hard, but also enjoy your time in high school!" -Ashley Davenport

"High school is full of many opportunities. You have the choice to take advantage of the opportunity, or to blow it off. Always opt in to extra credit projects, print off reviews early, get involved, join clubs like student council, and always ask for help if you do not understand something. Contrary to common belief, our teachers and staff actually want our students to succeed!" -Stephanie Beasley

"Make new friends, meet new people and always have an open mind. Don't worry too much about what others think; high school is only four years long. So smile as often as possible and always keep your chin up!" -Hannah Schwartz

"Time management is a huge part of a successful, and less stressful, high school experience! Don't wait until the last minute to do homework, projects, or studying for tests. Also, work hard your freshman year! I hear people all the time say, 'My GPA isn't that great, because I blew off my first year in high school!'"

-Jackie Robillard

"Avoid following the status quo. You will have nearly 800 people in your graduating class. Don't be that person who doesn't know more than half the people walking across the stage with you. Reach out to your classmates, and strive to make friends outside of your comfort zone. Our diversity is what makes us a world-class school!" -Kayla Siler

"Take pride in the school and actively participate! School spirit is all about having a positive attitude and showing your love for the school. Going to sporting events, attending school performances, and participating in spirit days are all ways to show how much you appreciate FMHS. So do it!"

-Megan Shepler

"Enjoy your time in high school! You will not believe how fast your four years go by. Stop and smell the roses and just take it all in! Try and stay positive even when you get stressed." -Chloe Harris

"Have fun in high school and get involved! It's an easy way to make friends, and you will carry those friendships all throughout your four years here. Clubs and extracurricular activities look

awesome when applying to college. Make the most of your high school career." -Nive Manohar
