HOLIDAY SOCIAL THIS THURSDAY
The final BIG EVENT of the 2014 year will be our December 4th Holiday Social!!

You've seen the flyer mailed to you and also received some email reminders.

The evening is the highlight of the year and time to kick back and gather socially with your chamber friends. It will include a buffet, some drinks, a Silent Auction, raffles, a Wine/Spirits Pull, Decorate the Tree, and entertainment.

I mentioned entertainment; we have brought back "The Challenge" where your team of four can win $400!!  No need to come team-ready; we'll form teams here if you don't come in 'fours'. Now you'll get a tip YOU CAN ONLY RECEIVE VIA THIS EMAIL to help your team with "The Challenge" - bring pink lipstick. You'll just have to trust me on this one.

We thank our Frasier Sponsors, Flood Brothers and Alberto's Restaurants and Banquets!!

Also sponsoring at a Balsam level are: Saverino & Associates, SportClips, McNees & Associates, Community Auto Body, FASTSIGNS, Water Tower Financial Partners LLC, and Starbucks.

Thanks to Pine Sponsor All Occasions Balloons, too!

Sign up here so we can know how many to cook for.

NO DECEMBER MONTHLY LUNCHEON

We understand that the final month of the calendar year can be very trying and overloaded at times for many of us. We don't hold a regular luncheon in December for this reason. We hope you will find time to shop your fellow chamber member businesses. Thank you for your participation in the 2014 events!
WOMEN IN BUSINESS NEWS
The Women In Business committee has been busy planning out the 2015 WIB events. Most of the events are in place with some minor exceptions.

Our January luncheon will be held at John  & Tony's on January 28th. Robert O'Dell will speak on "Generational Divide" and our Philanthropy will be non-perishable food items, art supplies, or books for People's Resource Center. Sign up at this link...

SHOP THE CHAMBER FOR ALL YOUR HOLIDAY NEEDS

Happy December! This month can mean intensive holiday shopping for some of us, including gifts and preparing the house and kitchen for holiday visitors.

This is the perfect time to help build fellow chamber member businesses by using their products or services first when prepping throughout December.

Whether it is carpet cleaning, DIY projects, catering in or eating out, and so much more....our members can help. Using these local businesses not only strengthens the local economy but can forge new or build on already-established business relationships.

Here are some tips we suggest:
  • Plan what you will need to purchase for gifts, plan for meals, or to host Aunt Susie for any of the December holidays.
  • Take a look at the Carol Stream Chamber website, click on MEMBER SEARCH and choose keywords or categories as you need.
  • When you call ahead or stop at their store, let them know you used them because they are a chamber member.
  • Consider posting your successes on Social Media as a testimonial or on their Yelp page.
  • Use them again, whenever possible.

Building fellow member businesses can come back to help you in the future as well. We hope you will consider SHOPPING THE CHAMBER whenever possible.

FIVE STAR BUSINESS & HEALTH EXPO - FEBRUARY 6, 2015
The five chambers that are involved in planning and holding the annual Five Star Expo have been meeting for months now, and are ready to announce the plans.

Friday, February 6th, 2015 will be the date for the 19th annual Five Star Business &  Health Expo and it will again be held at Medinah Shrine Center, 550 Shriners Drive, Addison, IL.

This is the perfect venue at which to showcase any products or services your business has to offer. Participants will receive a database of attendees as well as the personal interaction and engagement at their booths.

Chambers involved are: Addison, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, and Glendale Heights. The Kick-off event will be a Kick-off After Hours on Thursday, January 29th from 5:30-7:30pm at the Medinah Shrine Center.

Forms are being mailed and Sponsorships range from $1200 to $600, or a $195 booth price. Visibility and placement are some of the features included with sponsorships. There will once again be a Health Stage with presentations every hour but the After Hours immediately following the Expo will not be held this year. Hours for the expo will be 10:00am until 3:00pm.

The REGISTRATION FORM CAN BE FOUND HERE and will be posted on our Social Media as well as the website www.fivestarexpo.com
