The new chamber directory came out this month and in a new B2B approach, a copy has been mailed to each business in Carol Stream. Additionally, the chamber, the Village Hall and the library have received boxes of directories, as well as COD in Carol Stream. If you would like a stack for your lobby, feel free to come to the chamber office.
Businesses who were members before the May deadline are listed in this book two times; once as an alphabetical listing and once by business category. When we receive the link to the online version, we will post that front and center on our chamber website.

Our next Brown Bag Lunch 'N Learn will be  held at COD/Carol Stream, 500 N. Kuhn Road from 12:00 noon until 1:30pm. on August 14th. Our presenter will be David Schuler from the U.S. Census Bureau and he will help you learn how census data can help you - "Building a Better Business Case: U.S. Census Bureau Data and Tools.

SEPTEMBER LUNCHEON
|
We realize August is a busy travel and vacation month for you -- a much-needed vacation time. This is the reason we do not hold a monthly luncheon in August.
However, we are excited about starting the post-summer season with a bang at our September 10th lunch with speaker Lauren Young of Freshly Baked Communications. Lauren will present "Prospecting, Pitching, Closing: What to do to shorten your sales cycle and spend less time chasing business". Like a new box of crayons and new folders started your school year, so will Lauren give us a fresh look at our businesses.
Do you want a mini-exhibitor table at this event? There is no additional fee if you haven't had one yet in 2014. Email us here and let us know you'd like one. While you are at it, sign up for the September luncheon and get your networking kick-started this fall! |

In the summertime we move our After Hours away from colliding with the Thursday Nights Concerts in Carol Stream. Our next Business After Hours will be held on Wednesday, August 20th from 5:30-7:30pm at American Legion, 570 W. Gary, Carol Stream. Chamber member Sharko's will provide the food. Sign up here...
Why not bring with you other staff or associates from your company to join you on one or both of these dates? Our After Hours have no admission fee and this will be a way for your business to multiply its visibility. Check your calendar. Are you free?
There had been an additional After Hours scheduled for August 13th but had to be canceled due to the venue's staff vacations. If you've marked it on your calendar, you can X it out.

Last year we had a waiting list for booths. The glossy pink postcards are ready and available in the chamber office, if your business would like some either to mail or display. July 17th was a perfect weather day and we celebrated the Silver/25th anniversary golf outing at Klein Creek Golf Club!
With nearly 90 golfers and many sponsors, it was a grand success. From the entertaining silver-duct-work ball drop to the attempt at a $5,000 MoneyPutt, it was great fun. Want to see how much summer fun? Video and details
