 Illinois Rail Safety Week
September 11th - 17th

The Lake Zurich Police Department is joining with various Illinois State Organizations in an effort to educate local residents about railroad safety during Illinois Rail Safety Week.
  • Illinois ranked second in the nation in grade crossing fatalities and fifth in trespass fatalities for 2015.
Please remember, not only is it against the law to stop your vehicle on the railroad tracks, it is against the law to stop your vehicle anywhere within the highway-rail grade crossing.

The public is reminded that trespassing on any railroad property is a misdemeanor offense. In addition, it is illegal for any pedestrian, bicyclist or vehicle to travel around or under a railroad arm once the red warning lights and alarms are activated and the gate arm is closed or closing.

mothy Grant Jewelry: This family-owned business opened its Lake Zurich location in 2006.  It added a new showroom, new designers, and new watch lines. Timothy Grant Jewelry's mission is to provide fair-priced quality jewelry with exceptional service.  The owner Tim, a jeweler since 1985, is especially passionate about non-symmetrical designs and those with unusual colors and textures.  Come visit them at their new Lake Zurich location which is expected to open in the near future. Check them out here.

 Electricity Aggregation
Residents and small businesses enrolled in the Village of Lake Zurich electricity aggregation program are enjoying a significant decrease in ComEd energy bills this summer, thanks to the power of bulk energy purchases made available through a partnership between the Village and the Northern Illinois Municipal Electric Collaborative.

Rates for energy supply decreased in July 2016 from 7.199 cents per kilowatt hour down to 6.35 cents per kilowatt hour, a 12% decrease the Lake Zurich community will continue to enjoy until at least next summer, when the current aggregation program expires in June 2017.

Residents have the option of joining the Lake Zurich aggregation program for free and the program has no early termination fee. To join, contact the Village's current supplier, Homefield Energy, at 1-844-351-7691.

Women's Care Group in Lake Zurich
Below is a flyer for a new Women's Care Group in Lake Zurich. The objective of the group is to provide a safe space for women survivors/victims of domestic violence abuse or for those in unhealthy relationships to come and receive education, support and encouragement for their life circumstance. Groups are open-ended, meaning women can join whenever it is best for their schedule -- this is why there is no start date on the flyer.
