Pro-Live Action League Demonstration
|
On Thursday, July 14, 2016, the Pro-Life Action League will bring its "Face the Truth Tour" to Lake Zurich. From 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., organization members will stand along the roadway and display signs at the intersection of U.S. Route 12 (Rand Road) and Illinois Route 22. Displays will extend East, West, North, and South from the intersection. Some of the signs will contain graphic content that may be inappropriate for children.
Warning signs will be posted ahead of the intersection to make residents, pedestrians, and other motorists aware of the scheduled demonstration to allow them time to alter their route to avoid the demonstration if they so choose.
The Lake Zurich Police Department will monitor the area of the demonstration to ensure there is no breach of the peace and to advise participants where they can display their signs as pedestrians.

Unused Prescription Drug Take Back at Police Department
|
In an effort to help address the serious and growing drug addiction problem in our communities, Lake County, SWALCO, and local law enforcement, including the Lake Zurich Police Department, have partnered on a program that allows people to drop off controlled substances at local police departments. These drugs often include opioids, such as heroin, morphine, and prescription pain relievers.
The Lake Zurich's drug collection box is conveniently located in the Police Department lobby. The lobby is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The link below is a short video for a behind the scenes look of the drug collection program with Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor.
