Craft Beer Festival This Weekend!

Lake Zurich's Paulus Park will soon play host to a 2-day craft beer festival, where visitors can taste over 45 unique craft beers, enjoy food and entertainment. 
  • Tasting Session 1 - Friday, October 2, 2015 from 5 pm to 10 pm
     
  • Tasting Session 2 - Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 2 pm to 7 pm
There is free parking at the event and across Rand Road.  Overnight parking for festival attendees is permitted.  Designated driver tickets are only $10.

The next Village Board meeting is on Monday, October 5 at Village Hall.  Trustees will be discussing several important topics, including:
  • Liquor license issuance for new business "Tracy's" at 790 South Rand Road
     
  • Infrastructure funding and potential future debt issuance for sanitary sewer line repairs
     
  • Results of Lake Zurich's National Citizen Survey

Fire Prevention Week = Fun Family Event

The Lake Zurich Fire/Rescue Department is inviting your family and friends to join us for a fun filled day of fire safety exhibits and events on Sunday, October 4 from 11 am - 2 pm at Fire Station #1, 321 South Buesching Road.

Activities will include interactive kid events such as stop, drop and roll challenges, fire pole slides, the sprinkler trailer, and fire safety puppet show.  Several exhibits will be on-site and don't forget to take a ride in the antique fire truck!

Yard Waste & Leaf Collection

Leaf Collection Begins Week of October 12

Annual leaf vacuuming by Waste Management will begin the week of October 12.
  • Leafs must be raked to within 5 feet of the curb to be vacuumed.
     
  • Other yard waste must be placed in biodegradable bags (brown paper), or cans (maximum 50 pounds) that are clearly marked as landscape waste.
     
  • Stickers are not required.
     
  • Yard waste in plastic bags will not be collected.
     
  • Branches should be tightly tied with bio-degradable string or twine, in a bundle not exceeding four feet in length or 50 pounds in weight.
     
  • As an option for residents, Waste Management will provide a 60-gallon or 90-gallon container for the collection of yard waste for $3 per month during the collection period.

Curbside leaf vacuuming will end on December 4.  Other yard waste collection will end on November 30.
