Craft Beer Festival October 2-3 |
Lake Zurich's Paulus Park will soon play host to a 2-day craft beer festival, where visitors can taste over 45 unique craft beers, enjoy food and entertainment.
- Tasting Session 1 - Friday, October 2, 2015 from 5 pm to 10 pm
- Tasting Session 2 - Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 2 pm to 7 pm
Take advantage of discounted tasting tickets for each session through this limited time Groupon deal. For $29 you get beer tasting admission and unlimited three-ounce samples of your choice.
Of course, there is free parking at the event and across Rand Road. Overnight parking for festival attendees is permitted. Designated driver tickets are only $10.

Village Seeks Part-Time Guest Service Associate
The Parks & Recreation Department of the Village of Lake Zurich is seeking candidates for the position of part-time Guest Service Associate. Parks & Rec offices are located at 200 South Rand Road.
Guest Service Associate responsibilities include exceptional customer service, promoting recreation programs, and general administrative functions. The typical work period is less than 20 hours per week during afternoon hours, Monday through Friday and every-other Saturday for two to three hours in May and June only.

Yard Waste & Leaf Collection

Collection Starts on October 12
Annual yard waste collection will start on October 12 and continue until December 4 on the same day that refuse and recycling is collected.
- Yard waste must be placed in biodegradable bags (brown paper), or cans (maximum 50 pounds) that are clearly marked as landscape waste.
- Stickers are not required.
- Yard waste in plastic bags will not be collected.
- Branches should be tightly tied with bio-degradable string or twine, in a bundle not exceeding four feet in length or 50 pounds in weight.
- As an option for residents, Waste Management will provide a 60-gallon or 90-gallon container for the collection of yard waste for $3 per month during the collection period.
During this same time period, Waste Management will also remove leaves that have been raked to within five feet of the curb.

The Fire/Rescue Department encourages all residents to enroll and become certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and will offer classes to those interested.
Gather a small group of friends, neighbors, or co-workers (6 or more) and give us a call to schedule a personalized CPR class. This is perfect for youth groups, homeowners associations, religious organizations, and clubs. Early intervention by bystanders trained to perform high-quality chest compressions increase the chance for survival when Sudden Cardiac Arrest occurs.

Activities will include interactive kid events such as stop, drop and roll challenges, fire pole slides, the sprinkler trailer, and fire safety puppet show. Several exhibits will be on-site and don't forget to take a ride in the antique fire truck!

Year-round drop off locations for electronic recycling are in Antioch, Grant Township, Grayslake, Highland Park, and Waukegan. The Wauconda Township Road District is no longer accepting electronics.
