The existing kiosk will remain open until construction of the new building is complete, at which point the gas station will close for about two weeks to allow for the demolition of the existing structure.

Lake Zurich Smart Meter Installation Schedule

ComEd Invests in Regional Smart Grid

ComEd has been installing smart meters in the Village of Lake Zurich since January 2015 and is approximately 70% complete with meter installation.

In total, there are some 7,400 smart meters that need to be installed in Lake Zurich with about 2,100 still remaining.  The bulk of these installations for Lake Zurich residents will occur in August, with the remaining to be installed in September and October.

Smart meters are important building blocks of the smart grid to provide you with stronger, more reliable electricity service.  ComEd plans to install 4 million smart meters across northern Illinois.

National Citizen Survey In The Mail

If Your House is Selected, Please Complete the Survey

Over the next couple of weeks 1,400 randomly selected Lake Zurich households will receive the National Citizen Survey in the mail.  If you are a selected household, please take a few moments to complete the survey, as the results will be rich in valuable data that will be used for years.

If you have any questions about this process or about the survey itself, please contact Village Hall at 847-540-1684.

Should the Village Spend Tax Funds on Switching to Lake Michigan Water?

Since 2010, the Village has been studying the feasibility of securing Lake Michigan water as an alternative to receiving water from it's deep underground aquifers via six wells.  Residents receiving the National Citizen Survey this summer will be asked about this possibility.

For more background on this important issue, please visit the Village's Lake Michigan water page.
