Help Protect Basic Services and Quality of Life in Lake Zurich

Visit ProtectMyTown.com and Voice Your Position

The Illinois Legislature and Governor's Office is considering reducing revenue the State shares with local municipalities such as Lake Zurich as a means of patching State budget holes at the expense of Illinois' cities and villages.  Tell the State not to reduce shared revenue to Lake Zurich, click here...

This shared revenue is critical for funding basic services like police and fire protection, paramedic response services, road repairs, park maintenance, refuse and recycling collection, infrastructure projects, and snowplowing.  If the State proposal becomes a reality, the Village of Lake Zurich could lose some $1 million annually (over 7% of the General Fund operating budget).

Such a large cut in local revenue would likely result in municipal service reductions that will be noticed by residents.  The Lake Zurich Village Board is opposed to raising taxes or eliminating essential services or vital public works projects to make up for the lost revenue.

You Can Help.  Tell Springfield that they can't fix the State's problem by shifting the budget onto local communities.  Visit ProtectMyTown.com to send a letter to your legislators and the Governor  urging them not to reduce shared revenue to Lake Zurich.
