Lake Zurich Earns Sunshine Award:  Scores 91% in High Transparency

Village Embracing Culture of Transparency and Openness

The Illinois Policy Institute has recognized the high level of transparency in Lake Zurich by granting the Village a Sunshine Award for online transparency.

Only 72 taxing bodies out of the nearly 7,000 in Illinois have won the Illinois Policy Institute's Sunshine Award, according to IllinoisPolicy.org. Lake Zurich is now in this elite category of the most transparent local governments in Illinois.

The Village has created an online Transparency Portal which highlights Lake Zurich's values of clear, direct and honest communication. If one has a question about Lake Zurich municipal operations, it can likely be found on the Transparency Portal.

Neighborhood Block Parties

Plan Your Spring Block Party Now!

Spring has arrived and now is the time to get your neighborhood block party requests submitted to the Village.  Block parties are one of those things that help make a community feel like home and the Village wants to encourage family-friendly, safe block parties.

The Village is happy to provide barricades and temporarily close low-traffic streets.  We can even have police officers and firefighters stop by for the kids on a fun courtesy visit.  Please click below to submit a block party request.
