Lake Zurich Cracking Down on Drunk Drivers
Lake Zurich police will be out in force as part of the annual Illinois "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" crackdown on drunk drivers.
Your local officers will be on the lookout for drunk drivers and will arrest anyone caught driving drunk. Front and back seat belt law violators will also be ticketed.
Lake Zurich police are giving fair warning to all partygoers. "You'll see us out there during this highly visible enforcement period. Drunk drivers will be arrested and those not observing seat belt laws will be ticketed," said Sergeant Tracey Goodyear.
"Driving drunk is simply not worth the risk. So don't take the chance. Remember, we will be out in force and we will be watching, so Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," said Sergeant T. Goodyear.

Solicitors Coming to Your Door? |
Natural Gas Aggregation Not Available (Yet)
Several residents have seen an increase in the number of solicitors knocking on their doors offering enrollment in programs that will reduce their natural gas bill. Often times, these solicitors ask to see your Nicor bill and sometimes they claim to represent the Village of Lake Zurich.
While not always a scam, please be aware that the Village of Lake Zurich does not offer a natural gas aggregation program and solicitors are not representing the Village.
There is an official Lake Zurich electricity aggregation program that has saved residents and small businesses millions of dollars over the last few years, but there is no natural gas aggregation program.
The State of Illinois has not passed legislation to enable municipal aggregation of natural gas, although the legislation has been introduced at the committee level. Until this legislation is passed by the General Assembly, municipal aggregation programs for natural gas will not happen.
