Home Rule Public Forum - Oct. 22

 

 

The Village is hosting a public forum on home rule on Wednesday, October 22, starting at 7:00 pm at the Ela Area Public Library.

 

Please join us to learn about home rule.

 

If you are a Lake Zurich voter, this November 4 you will get to decide if Lake Zurich is ready for the increased local control home rule provides.

 

About Home Rule

 

This public forum will include the opportunity for residents and business owners to ask any home rule questions they want directly to the Mayor and Village Manager.

Election Center

 

Early Voting in Lake Zurich

 

Early voting for Lake Zurich residents and all of Ela Township is available from Monday, October 20 until Saturday, November 1.

 

The early voting location is at the Ela Township Hall, 1155 East Route 22.

 

Early Voting Hours 

     Monday - Friday: 9:00 am until 4:30 pm

     Saturday:  9:00 am until 2:00 pm

 

Voting on Election Day

 

Your polling location is determined by your precinct number and is listed on your Certificate of Voter's Registration Card.  There are five polling locations in Lake Zurich:

 

     Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church

     The Chapel

     Ela Area Public Library

     Buffalo Creek Park Building

     Peace Lutheran Church

 

All voting sites are open from 6:00 am until 7:00 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4.

Autumn Leaf Collection

 

Collections Go Until End of November

  

The Villages' annual leaf collection program has started and will be continuing until the end of November.

 

Residents are asked to rake leaves by 6:00 am on Monday for collection of that week.

Tire Recycling Event

 

An Opportunity to Help the Environment 
 
   

Do you have old car, truck, or tractor tires laying around?  

 

On Friday, October 31 from 8:00 - 1:00 pm, Lake County residents can bring their unwanted tires to 600 W. Winchester Road in Libertyville to have them recycled. 

 

No rims are allowed and there is a $1.00 per tire (cash only) charge to help offset costs of transportation and recycling of tires.

Lake Zurich's trick-or-treat hours are on Halloween, Friday, October 31 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm.
