President's Message
Thank you to all who attended the baby shower for Levi and Miyui Herrara Lopez last Friday and welcomed these future Rotarians.
You probably received a Palm Sunday Brunch roster from Raeann at Willamette Lutheran Homes. Please disregard and use the roster handed out by Catherine Carlson.
The Salem Rotaractor group has a couple activities coming up -- please consider attending! This Wednesday, they are holding a career fair on the Western Oregon University campus. Following that, they will host a pizza party (which we are invited to attend) starting at 6:30 p.m. at The Cottage on the Monmouth campus. The group is also taking over the local Burgerville for a fundraiser on March 2 between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. The club will get a percentage of the proceeds, so come out to show support and get a great burger and milkshake!
Darlene Taylor, Karin Holton and I attended an informative workshop this past Saturday on membership, sponsored by Rotary Zone 25/26. We came away with some ideas on member retention, club culture, and attracting new members. You'll be hearing more about these subjects in the coming weeks. Thank you, Darlene and Karin, for giving up a Saturday for the betterment of our club!
We have some great speakers coming to visit us this month. Check out the list to the right and think about which of your friends might be interested in hearing about one of those topics. Also check to see if you are one of our greeters this month. If you are, please be sure to arrive early to make any guests feel welcome. First impressions are so important, and we want to be known for our hospitality!
Hope you have a great week -- see you at lunch on Friday! |
Club News
Who was that?We have made it through all of the club members getting to know you surveys that we received, so now it is time to see how well we remember what we learned about each other. Be the first to reply with the correct answer (and it can't be you) and you will be entered into a drawing for a really cool Rotary related prize.
Who in our club was once a tramp clown?

Kiara Ballard is one of the short term students we are sponsoring this year. She is in need of some help with funding for her trip and has set up a gofundme account. If you would be interested in helping her out, please visit the link below to make a contribution. https://www.gofundme.com/f9jqaqe4 Garage Sale Update Thank you to Dave Leonard for offering us his barn for storage of items for the garage sale. We are now in need of someone who is willing to gather items at our Friday meetings and transport them out to the barn. If you have a truck and would be willing to help get items out to Dave's please let Karin or Pat know.
