FENCER PROFILE
Meet Our NAFC Fencers!

Name: Michael Shinholster
Age: 12
Grade: 6th
School: St. Joseph Catholic School
What do you do other than fencing?
Boy Scouts and study German at the German School of Atlanta.
How long have you been fencing?
This summer will be two years... so about a year and a half.
How did you become interested in the sport?
I didn't know anything about it, and I tried it at a camp. It was just really fun in general. I got to try all the weapons.
What do you like most about fencing?
Competing - it's individual and it challenges you. And just the fact that you get to play with swords.
What has been your best result?
The first tournament here at NAFC was the first time I medaled; and I got first! In the same week, I got my second Gold at IFC.
