For the first time ever, the United States hosted the  International Robot Olympiad (IRO), right here in Colorado. Douglas  County students welcomed the world and then showed them their Critical  Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity and Communication in the  competition. Students representing several DCSD schools won 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 10 bronze medals and 5 technical awards. Read more

 Apple Award Representatives announced   After receiving thousands of nominations for teachers and employees  across the district, each school and district site has named an "Apple  Representative."   Finalists and award winners will be announced at the  annual Apple Awards celebration on March 1.   Follow this link to view a complete list of representatives.  |

 DCSD invites parents to provide input on 'testing madness'
 
  Four parent meetings have been scheduled this month to provide information on testing  concerns, answer questions and gather parent input. All  meetings will be held in the school board meeting room on the second  floor of the Douglas County School District administration building,  located at 620 Wilcox Street in Castle Rock. Read more

 Eagle Academy graduates to receive diplomas on Jan. 30 
  
Congratulations to the students from Eagle Academy, who will be recognized at Rock Canyon High School during their graduation ceremony on January 30. The ceremony begins at 7 p.m.
   Eagle Academy is an evening high school dedicated to serving  the needs of high school students seeking an alternative path to  earning a high school diploma.

 The  next regular Board of Education meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on  Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the DCSD Administration Building (620  Wilcox, Castle Rock).
