New tradition marks beginning of school year 

Marking their last year and a new era at Chaparral High School, the school's class of 2014 celebrated a new tradition, gathering for the first-ever Senior Sunrise. As it turned out, the sun didn't make an appearance, but the event was certainly a success for both the students and their new principal,
Greg Gotchey.

The recipient of this year's prestigious Colorado Association of Leaders in Educational Technology's (CALET) Outstanding Technology Administrator Award is DCSD's Kim McMonagle, Director of Educational Technology.

"While the rapid pace of change of technology is an on-going challenge, we understand there are key elements for preparing the system for change," said McMonagle.  Read more

Community service opportunity in Castle Rock


The Castle Rock Fire Department
is seeking volunteers to help with its annual Paint-a-Thon. This event brings community members together to paint homes for Castle Rock residents who are unable to do so themselves. Read more
