Prepare Plan Choose - Examining Life After 50 

Free Four Part Series sponsored by Whitaker Funeral Home 

Whitaker Funeral Home's informational workshop series examining life after 50, continues on Tuesday, Sept 24 with George Routon of Southeastern Insurance Consultants discussing the how to's of navigating benefit programs like Social Security, Veterans' benefits and Medicare. The session begins at 7 pm at the Chapin Chamber and will last about an hour. The series is free to attend but space is limited so please register online or call 803-345-1100 to reserve your space.

What I Love About Chapin! Photo Contest

The Chamber is looking for photos of your favorite places, people and events Soccer photo to promote Chapin as a visitors' destination. Our amateur photography contest is open to area residents and will include cash prizes as well as inclusion in a Chapin 2014 Calendar and postcard series that will be offered at the Chamber and area merchants, with proceeds benefiting the historic Chaffin-Eleazer House building fund. Congratulations to Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union!

Get Your Bow Ties and Blue Jeans Gala Tickets at Chamber

The Greater Chapin Community Endowment invites you to attend their "Bow Ties and Blue Jeans" Gala on saturday, Sept. 28 at the Timberlake Country Club beginning at 6:30 pm. Music will be provided by SoundQuest DJ's for your dancing pleasure. There will be a Silent and Live Auction featuring merchandise and services donated by Chapin area businesses, organizations and individuals. Tickets are $55 per person and  are available at the Chamber House or by calling Gala Chair Toni Brown at 345.6562.

 

CPC Lake Murray Banquet Training - Sept. 20 & 21

Crisis Pregnancy Center of Lake Murray is having a professional come and train their volunteers on how to host a successful fundraising banquet and you're invited to attend this free two-day FUN and EXCITING training! They will meet on Friday, Sept. 20 from 4-8 pm and on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 8 am-noon. They have room for 30 people, and meals will be provided. Fancy Hat Ladies to Meet Sept. 17 at Chamber
The Fancy Hat Ladies will kick off their new year with an informative meeting and luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 11:30 am at the Chapin Chamber. Scott Macfarland will be making a presentation on behalf of the Chapin Community Endowment. Members will provide a tasty array of their favorite salads, and newcomers are welcome to attend. Chapin Theatre's Next Show Opens Next Thursday

Cop in the Closet Unnecessary Farce, Chapin Theatre Company's next comedy, opens Sept. 19, 2013, at the Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College. Directed by Glenn Farr, the comedy runs through Sept. 28. Visit www.chapintheatre.org for dates, times and ticket information.

Register for Small Business Symposium on Risk Management for Businesses

The Columbia Area Small Business Development Center and Adams, Gyemant & Griffin Business Advisors, LLC are hosting a half day Small Business Symposium on September 17, 2013, on Risk Management for Businesses. The Symposium will be held from 8:00 AM - 12:15 PM at the Lumpkin Center, 8th Floor, Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, 1705 College Street, Columbia, SC 29208. The Risk Management Track will cover interacting with the government, commercial contracts, contract negotiation, risk management, liability avoidance, and ethics. The registration cost, which includes refreshments and parking, is $125.
