Lead In!

BIG NEWS! TTL Board member Mari-Beth O'Neill has just been promoted by AKC to Vice President of Sports Services. According to the AKC press release, MB will "continue to provide special services to delegates, clubs and fanciers, leading the coordination of various programs including Breeder of Merit, Junior Handlers, Foundation Stock Services and Veterinary Outreach."

We are all thrilled for Mari-Beth and wish her much success in her new position. Meanwhile, the Greatest Multitasker on Earth will also continue to coordinate the Take The Lead Booth!

Look below for the story and pictures from the Utah shows. As always, thanks to Karen Child for her organizing events in the Beehive state.

News from Kim Russell: the Wine Country KC event is shaping up into quite an extravaganza with a one man band and great raffle items. Scroll down for details.

What a difference a month makes! I just looked at the literarily HOT pictures from the Labor Day TTL event and compared them to the Morris and Essex and Montgomery pictures. HOT in spirit, but COLD, COLD, COLD in temperature!

Read On, Lead On, and support our fellow dog show friends in need.

Best to all,

"Doc" Iverson writes:
The Bonneville Basin Kennel
Association sponsored a Dunk Tank at their recent shows with the proceeds going to Take The Lead. AKC judges, handlers and club members participated in the fun event that also raised money for TTL.
AKC judge Bill Shelton received the biggest donations and he didn't even get wet! Bill stayed dry and in his suit and tie! Others that participated by getting dunked were: AKC judge Andy Kalmanash, AKC Executive Field Representative Diana Wilson, AKC handlers Luke Baggenstos and Jim Bettis, Onofrio superintendent Terry James and BBKA show chair, George Vaugn. BIS handler Randy Bennis generously donated the money earned with his Group and BIS wins, and AKC judge Beverly Capstick also made a generous donation. In the end, money was raised for an excellent cause and those participating had tons of fun!

TTL Accepts In Kind Gift Items

In Kind donations are non-monetary items or services donated to a charity.

In the past, many dog-related businesses have donate their services to TTL, and we have received items that have been auctioned or raffled.

Now, we are developing a system to accept in kind items on a regular basis.

If you have an item, or service, you'd like to donate to TTL, please call Lynette or Debbie at the Watertown office, 1-800-284-1123, and they will step you through the process.

AND
