The Jungle Book

Raised by a family of wolves since birth, Mowgli must leave the only home he's ever known. Guided by a  free-spirited bear, the young boy meets an array of jungle animals. Along the way, Mowgli learns valuable life lessons as his journey leads to fun and adventure.

The first month of fall is officially here! The changing weather is ushering in new and exciting happenings throughout WCFL. This month is full of great activities including family movie events, live music, informative classes, and historical lectures. 

 

Are you interested in helping to support the fun and exciting programs at Washington County Free Library? Make plans to attend An Evening at the Fletcher: Caddystacks fundraiser at the end of this month! Please make plans to join us to celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of the Alice Virginia & David W. Fletcher branch and all of the exciting things happening at 
Washington County Free Library.
This year the Fletcher Library will be turned into 18 holes of miniature golf.  We've added a silent auction, the Sprint Virtual Reality station, lively musical entertainment, delicious food and drink, and a cash bar.
Please dress in your best, yet tasteful, golf attire.

 Get Empowered: Job Expo!
Monday, September 19th @ 9:00 - 5:00




The Library is partnering with the Western Maryland Consortium and the One-Stop Job Center to bring you this special event at the Fletcher Library in downtown Hagerstown.
The event will feature speakers, vendors and workshops all aimed at increasing job seekers' confidence, resilience and skills regarding the job search and/or career planning. Workshops include resume writing, vision board creation, mock interviews, networking, career coaching and more!

  Celebrating the Constitution
Antietam and the Conococheague D.A.R. Chapter's

Never before has the respect and recognition of our constitution been more important than in the 2016 Presidential election.


New York Times best selling author Tim Rowland will be presenting "The War that Started it All".  


Participants will receive individual/family printed copies of the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. 
Back-to-School Destress Day
Sunday, September 4th @ 2pm: 


School is back in session, but already we are missing those lazy summer days. Join us for a Destress Session. We will have fun relaxing activities, and offer tips on how you can stay organized and manage your stress this year.

 Presented by Licensed Antietam National Battlefield Guide and Founder of the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, Gordon Dammann. Scenes from seven movies will be shown and discussion will sort out medical truth and fiction presented by Hollywood.

Every Monday at 4:00 p.m. please join us in the computer lab to play, explore, and build in Minecraft.  Starting September 12th at 4:00.
