Summer is finally in full swing! And so is Summer Reading Club at Washington County Free Library.  You still have plenty of time to register and participate in one of our many activities or enter to win a fabulous prize just for reading and logging your progress.   

 

This July is also the 240th birthday of the United States of America.  So make sure that you exercise your freedom and independence by reading and enjoying literature of all kinds, makes, and genres!  Not sure what new book to pick up? Stop in to your local branch and ask for recommendations.  We are always happy to expand your reading horizons in new and interesting directions.

Science in the Summer
July 18th - 21st
 This fun science program helps elementary-school children "grow into science"

Level I: Children grades 2-3: 11 - 12 p.m.
Level II: Children grades 4-6: 1 - 2 p.m.

Woolie Story Time
Friday, July 1st @ 11:00 a.m.


Join us for a special storytime featuring the Hagerstown Suns mascot, Woolie!  Woolie will be avaliable for photos before and after storytime.  A Hagerstown Suns baseball player may also make a special appearance.

Financial Wellness Series 
 Offered July 27 & Every Wednesday in August 
Classes held at 2:00 & 6:00


All classes are free and open to the public and are brought to you through a partnership with MD Cash Campaign, REACH of Washington County and the Washington County Free Library life skills program.

COMIC CON
Saturday, August 13th @ 10:00 - 4:00 pm
 Join us for the Washington County Free Library's 2nd Annual Comic Con event. There will be comic book and artist vendors, special speakers, costumed guests, gaming, crafts, a costume contest, and more!


Crash Course in Coding 
Join us on Monday nights in July and August for a 6 week course on the Basics of JavaScript teens will learn how to write code with JavaScript. Classes will be led by a retired Software Engineer/Architect for Lockheed Martin Corporation.

 Susanne Horner was a Olympic Torch Runner in the 2002 Winter Olympics. She will bring her torch, outfit and other memorabilia and stories from that Olympics.

Maryland Championship Wrestling  
Friday, July 15th 5:00 p.m.




Plan to step in to the arena with Maryland Championship Wrestling! Champion wrestlers will talk about wrestling, how they got into the sport, and read a few stories!




Fit In Boonsboro
Monday, July 11th @ 11:00 a.m.






Kids ages 5 - 10, join Heidi Bodenheimer, the manager of Fit in BoonsBoro, for a high energy, dance/drumming fitness experience.
