10 THINGS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT US
In this issue of 10 Things, we find another interesting group of talented colleagues from across the region: Crystal Adkins, Ruth Enlow Library of Garrett County's Accident Branch Manager; Chris Henry, Washington County Free Library's Head of Interlibrary Loan; Sarah McGuire, Allegany County Library System's South Cumberland Branch Manager; and Dennis McPherson, Western Maryland Regional Library's Delivery/Deposit/ILL assistant. WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH DATABASES?

Novelist. Rosetta Stone. Ancestry. Brainfuse. Literature Resource Center.

These are just a few of the many databases provided to you by your Regional Library.  In this age of Google we all know how important it is to be able to provide accurate and unbiased information to our customers in a timely manner. Not everything is on the Internet, and our databases serve as vetted resources for all kinds of information that can be accessed inside and outside the library.

JULIE Z. SAYS, "ADEUS!"

On July 1st, WMRL Staff Development Coordinator, Julie Zamostny, will say farewell to western Maryland in order to say hello to her new post as a Peace Corps Community Development Volunteer in Timor-Leste. Julie will round out her six-and-a-half year service to western Maryland with business as usual by revamping the annual training needs assessment process, scheduling workshops for the fall, reconciling the counties' staff development grants, and by creating a comprehensive orientation plan for the new Staff Development Coordinator.

So, until 4pm on July 1st, but preferably sooner, feel free to contact her for all your staff development needs! jzamostny@wmrl.info.
