Hercules named largest living cat by the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records
Resident of T.I.G.E.R.S. Preserve, based in Myrtle Beach, announced as world's largest living feline! The 2014 Guinness Book of World Records was published on September 12, 2013 with Hercules claiming his title in the record book. Hercules weighs in at 922 pounds, nearly 11 feet in length and over 4 feet tall at the shoulders. To put this in perspective, Hercules consumes roughly 25 pounds of meat each and every day! Check out this photo below of Hercules dwarfing Doc Antle while relaxing at the Myrtle Beach Safari, located in South Carolina.

Another great way to see Hercules' amazing stature is through this photo of him posing next to a famous double-decker bus. This picture was snapped while the world record holder was traveling with the Rare Species Fund team to promote wildlife conservation.

As you may know, the Guinness Book of World Records is the official reference and ultimate authority for world records. The 2014 edition will be distributed in more than 100 countries and translated into 20 languages leading the publication world as one of the best-selling books of all time!
Hercules began his journey to the record books in November of 2001 as one of four liger cubs born at the Preserve. A hybrid of a lion and tiger, Hercules shows the bravery of a tiger with the love for social interaction of a lion. Hercules, named after the mythological character, represents his namesake well with his amazing strength and adventuresome (and sometimes stubborn) spirit. Doc Antle mentions "if Hercules is averse to doing something, he simply sits down". And at 922 pounds, Hercules can stay seated as long as he wants!
Bubbles and Bella video watched over 1 million times! The pair says..."we're world famous too!"
We all know Hercules is "officially" world famous but don't count out Bubbles and Bella. The story and video of an unlikely best friend duo has captured attention from Australia to London to Israel, enough attention that Good Morning America ran their coverage from the Myrtle Beach Safari again last week! If you haven't seen them, join the millions of other around the world enjoying friendship in its finest form:
