Happy New Year from the Community Foundation!

Along with the new year comes change in leadership at the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain. The Tomasso Group's J. Leo Gagne has assumed the role of board chair, and he is joined by a team of new officers. But the changes don't stop there: The Foundation has also added two new board members. Hospital for Special Care's Lynn Ricci, along with Art Schaller, Jr., of Schaller Auto World. With these changes, the Community Foundation's leadership remains in strong, capable hands.  Read more...  

The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain has been an integral part of the fabric of the communities of Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington for more than  70 years. Never was its commitment to the communities it serves more evident than in 2013, when the Foundation established a single-year high mark in total grant dollars awarded - including nearly $300,000 in First Years First funding. Read more...  

Last summer, the Community Foundation partnered with the New Britain Rock Cats, making it possible for hundreds of area children and families from youth organizations throughout the region to enjoy the 2013 Eastern League All-Star Home Run Derby. In recognition of its support, the Rock Cats Foundation will present its 2013 Triple Crown Award for community service to the Foundation at its annual Hot Stove Luncheon this Thursday at CCSU. Read more...
