Building on impressive improvement made over the past year in the number of New Britain children attending school regularly, the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain has authorized an additional $21,000 in grant funding to the Consolidated School District of New Britain to enable this widely-hailed effort to continue. The funding will enable the school system to continue its outreach into the community, relaying the message that regular attendance is critical to success. Read more...
 
Catalyst 9-18-13With growing community concern over the state of mental health of our youth and our collective capacity to provide impacted families with the help they need, members of the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain's Catalyst Fund heard presentations on Wednesday from three community agencies offering services to address the issue. In November, Catalyst Fund members will award a $10,000 grant to one of the agencies to continue and/or expand their programming in this area for members of the Greater New Britain community. Read more...
