BOOK LOVERS' LUNCH SUCCESS
The 4th Annual Books Lovers' Lunch North Shore was our biggest and most successful yet!  The lunch took place on Friday, May 1, 2015, at Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park. Nearly 250 guests attended the SOLD OUT event, featuring Allison Pataki, bestselling author of The Traitor's Wife and her latest work, The Accidental Empress.

Fun raffle emceed by Brian & Allison.
Guests enjoyed lunch, a presentation and book signing by Allison Pataki, a message from Founder and Executive Director, Brian Floriani and our distribution video (click here to watch this video).  A challenge match was offered and a raffle for 7 exciting prizes was held.  Guests each took home  a goody bag and a better connection to the mission of Bernie's Book Bank.

As Author Allison Pataki said, "The work Bernie's Book Bank does is so important-and impactful.  We simply cannot turn the page on children without books."  This event raised enough money to collect, process and distribute almost 150,000 books, serving more than 12,000 at-risk children.

What a lovely day! Thank you to everyone involved - Allison Pataki, our team members, Co-chairs Allison Derr and Maureen Grinnell, our entire Committee, our sponsors and all of our guests.
THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS
Thanks to our generous corporate sponsors, we were able to offer the "All in for Bernie's Book Bank" Challenge Match. Individual contributions made during the Book Lovers' Lunch were matched 2:1 by donations from ThePrivateBank, Walgreens, Illinois Bone & Joint Institute of Glenview and Webb Financial Group, which helped make this our most successful Book Lovers' Lunch to date!

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS DRIVE
Check out the Battle of the Books Children's Book Drive! Five of the country's leading financial services companies are having a contest to see who can collect the most books for at-risk children throughout Chicagoland!  Thanks to Ariel Investments, CNA, Loop Capital, Mesirow Financial and ThePrivateBank.

We've provided each company with collection bins, marketing materials and lots of ideas for a friendly competition to reach a collective goal of 50,000 books!

We absolutely love this visionary idea to build goal setting, teamwork, leadership and communication among employees within and between companies!
