October 2013 Newsletter

1,849,876 books distributed to date!

A Different Type of Thank You
Every week, we receive dozens of thank you letters from children that have received books from us.  We also receive letters from children that are part of book drives and collections saying thank you for what they learned from their experience.  We know that Book Drives teach kids goal setting, teamwork, leadership and communication - but it makes us so very happy when they realize it themselves!

Lake Forest Private Estate Tour

We were honored to have the opportunity to meet new friends and share the mission of Bernie's Book Bank at a very special evening hosted by the Marsh family at their private estate in Lake Forest.  Dozens of fine art and antique lovers enjoyed an evening of fine food and drink and a tour of the gardens as well as art and antique collections at this beautiful estate.

Thank you to DPR Art Rescue and Chartwell Insurance Services for hosting this event on our behalf.

A Message From Brian

Dear Fellow Berniacs,

"I don't believe in the kind of magic in my books. But I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book." - J. K. Rowling

With Halloween fast approaching, let's celebrate the magic of books.

Thank you for your continued support in helping provide this magic to the 75,000 children we are now serving!

Have a safe and fun Halloween.
