The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP) has published a new issue of its Organic Integrity Newsletter. We are also pleased to highlight an upcoming webinar on Market News price reporting and recent market trends for organic specialty crops.
NOP Publishes the September 2016 Issue of the Organic Integrity Newsletter
The National Organic Program (NOP) has posted the September 2016 Organic Integrity Newsletter. The issue features articles on NOP's Organic Control System and updates to the Organic Integrity Database. The issue also includes program updates on the National List, NOP Handbook updates, and new staff.
Julie Hartley and Russell Avalos with the AMS Livestock, Poultry, and Grain Market News Division will discuss new market reports available to help you discover local and organic commodity prices throughout the U.S. Ed Ragland, an economist with the AMS Transportation and Marketing Program, will walk you through a new feature we are developing for our AMS Farmers Market app that will enable vendors to self-report prices as they work to communicate with their customers.

AMS Highlights Market Trends in Organic Specialty Crops
The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Specialty Crops Market News recently published the National Specialty Crops Organic Summary. Published daily, this report provides organic price information at terminal markets, shipping points, and retail advertised prices throughout the U.S. The report highlights prices for 133 organic fruits, vegetables, herbs, and other specialty crops as well as movement data including domestic shipment volumes and import information.
