The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP) has published an updated Compliance & Enforcement/Appeals Summary Report. We are also pleased to share a USDA blog on organic labeling and announce expanded organic reporting from AMS Market News. 
AMS Releases Report on NOP Compliance & Enforcement Actions for 3Q FY2016
Today, the Agricultural Marketing Service's (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP) posted an updated Compliance & Enforcement/Appeals Summary report to its website. This quarterly report outlines NOP's compliance, enforcement and appeals activities during the first, second, and third quarters of the 2016 fiscal year (October 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016). The data highlights the number of incoming and completed complaints; the initial actions taken; and case dispositions, including settlements made and penalties levied.

USDA Publishes Blog on Understanding the Organic Label
Today, USDA published a blog from NOP Deputy Administrator Miles McEvoy on Understanding the Organic Label. The blog, which outlines what the organic label means, will help shoppers make informed purchasing choices.
