The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is pleased to announce that a new proposed rule has been posted on its website.   
Proposed Rule on Organic Livestock and Poultry Practices
The USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), National Organic Program (NOP) has posted a proposed rule on the AMS website, titled Organic Livestock and Poultry Practices.
 
The proposed rule would clarify existing USDA organic regulations related to livestock and poultry production requirements, thereby ensuring consistency among organic producers and protecting the integrity of the USDA organic seal.   

The proposed rule at the following link has been submitted to the Office of the Federal Register for publication. While AMS has taken steps to ensure the accuracy of this Internet version of the notice, it is not the official version. 

Once published in the Federal Register, the official version will be available at www.regulations.gov. We will announce the opening of the public comment period on the publication date. 


 
Webinar Session on Proposed Rule

AMS will host a public webinar about the proposed rule on April 15, 2016, from 2:30-3:30 PM Eastern. More information will be provided once the proposed rule is published.
