The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announces positive review by the European Commission of the European Union-United States (EU-US) organic equivalence arrangement. In addition, the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) announces a funding opportunity.
Review of EU-US Organic Equivalence Arrangement
The European Commission has reviewed the operation of the European Union-United States (EU-US) organic equivalence arrangement established in 2012 and found that the arrangement has been instrumental in increasing market access for producers, expanding consumer choices, and facilitating regulatory cooperation. The review also found that the Organic Working Group has been crucial in the development of the EU-US trade relationship.
The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) has released the 2015 Request for Applications (RFA) for the Farm Business Management and Benchmarking (FBMB) competitive grant program. Applications are due May 27, 2015.
