The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is pleased to announce that the new list of 2014 certified organic operators is now available on the National Organic Program website, as well as the publication of a new "Is Organic an Option for Me?" brochure.

Updated List of Certified Organic Operators Is Now Available!


 
As of the end of 2014, 19,474 organic farms and handling facilities in the United States were certified to the USDA organic standards, a growth of 5.2% over 2013. Worldwide, there are now 27,814 certified organic production and handling operations.

 

The certified operations list allows buyers, sellers and the public to identify and connect with certified organic businesses stakeholders across the supply chain.

 "Is Organic An Option for Me?"

The new "Is Organic An Option for Me?" brochure is now available.  The brochure provides an overview of the USDA organic regulations and how USDA supports organic agriculture.  The brochure includes information on how to get certified, and how to access funding and educational resources.
