The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is pleased to share three memos to the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB).

Memos to the NOSB | |
The NOSB has received three new memos:
1. NOSB Assessment: Summary of Findings Report
AMS is happy to share the results of an independent assessment studying the relationship and interactions between the NOSB and the National Organic Program (NOP).
2. Improved Guidance on Preventing GMO Presence in Organic Products
The NOSB Materials Subcommittee has submitted a work plan request to develop prevention strategy guidance for excluded methods in crops and handling. The NOP supports this action and would like the NOSB to recommend best practices for avoiding contact with genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in organic production and handling.
3. Assessing Soil Conservation Practices
The NOP requests that the NOSB Certification, Accreditation, and Compliance Subcommittee (CACS) develop a discussion document to solicit public feedback on specific questions about evaluating soil conservation management on organic operations.
