The NOP is committed to ensuring the integrity of organic products from farm to market.
In late 2012, the NOP announced a strengthened residue testing program to help increase consumer confidence in the $31.5 billion U.S. organic industry.
Our latest edition of the Organic 101 blog series serves as an introduction to this program, which is an important tool to protect the integrity of USDA organic products around the world.
The Organic 101 series explores different aspects of the USDA organic regulations.

| Organic Transitions Program | | |
The FY 2013 Organic Transitions Program request for applications is now available for public viewing. The program is administered by USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
The overall goal of the Organic Transitions Program (ORG) is to support the development and implementation of research, extension and higher education programs to improve the competitiveness of organic livestock and crop producers, as well as those who are adopting organic practices.
