 Dear JCJC Family & Friends,
It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of a beloved member of the Bobcat Family.  Mr. Gene Tullos of Raleigh passed away last night (Tuesday).
A 1962 Jones County Junior College graduate, Tullos was a great athlete who played basketball for Coach A. B. Howard in 1960 and 1961.  He was also named by his peers in 1962 as Mr. JCJC.  He was selected by the JCJC Alumni Association as the 1999 Honored Alumnus of the Year.  In 2008,Tullos was inducted into the JCJC Sports Hall of Fame and was a 2009 Mississippi JUCO Sports Hall of Fame Inductee.
Since 2008, Tullos has served on the JCJC Foundation, Inc., Board of Directors.  He and his wife, Nada are true friends of the college. They have shown their commitment to education by helping students from their area, by funding several scholarships in honor of their dear family members. Their generous support was recognized in the naming of the Gene and Nada Tullos Suite in Jones Hall, a beautiful suite which serves as a venue for special forums and hosting individuals and groups visiting our campus.
We will truly miss Mr. Tullos and his strong leadership and love for Jones County Junior College.  We want to express our deepest sympathy and love to Mrs. Nada Tullos and other close friends and family.
  Sincerely,
  David Garner
Chairman of the JCJC Board of Trustees
  & friend of the Tullos

  Funeral arrangements are forthcoming.
